The world premiere of Kieron Barry's play, The Official Adventures of Kieron and Jade takes place on Thursday, April 20th at The Bridge Street Theatre, 44 W. Bridge Street, Catskill. Barry was showcased locally in the enormously successful 2012 production of Tomorrow in the Battle at Stageworks/Hudson. It was hailed by the Albany Times Union as "one of the most remarkable pieces of theatre in recent memory."

This 1930s style screwball comedy is a convoluted story. Jade (a singer-songwriter - no last names, please) breaks up with Kieron (the playwright). Kieron is heartbroken and shocked. He writes down his thoughts for 6 months or so and then realizes he has the makings of a play. But, should he write a play about something so personal? Should he tell such a one-sided story? Should he tell a story in which so many of his colleagues and friends will know both protagonists?

...and that's what the play is about. Not the break up, but the pros and cons of writing about the break up.
