Justin Sayre, creator and host of the acclaimed comedy variety show and cult hit, The Meeting* of the International Order of Sodomites, will soon debut his new witty and sexy cabaret show, I'm Gorgeous Inside. The show, which is a sensual exploration of love and bad girl archetypes, begins its run September 22, 23, and 24 at Joe's Pub at The Public Theater in New York City.

Known for a signature blend of outrageous comedy, politics, and culture, The Meeting* ran for eight seasons with almost consistently sold-out shows at Joe's Pub. The show was hailed as "riotously funny and campy" by Next Magazine and "hilarious and sardonic" by The Village Voice. Described by Michael Musto of the Village Voice as "Oscar Wilde meets Whoopi Goldberg," Sayre was also named one of the "Funniest People in Brooklyn" by Brooklyn Magazine and among "LA's 16 Most Talented LGBT Comics" by Frontiers Magazine.

A big departure from The Meeting*, I'm Gorgeous Inside allows Sayre the opportunity for a new intimacy with his audience. He will hold the stage as a solo performer and take spectators on an entirely new experience with Dusty Childers directing and musical direction by Tony nominated cabaret artist and The Julie Ruin band member, Kenny Mellman. As a special tie-in with the Bushwig Drag Festival, each performance will also feature a different drag queen from the hugely popular annual event.

"I'm Gorgeous Inside is a mixed up sensory experience that celebrates the barriers pushed by bad girls who know what they want and get it," says Sayre. "It's about reclaiming slut-dom and enjoying the dirtier side of things."

Tickets for the upcoming Joe's Pub shows are available for purchase here or via phone at 212-967-7555. There will also be a preview show in Los Angeles on September 10 at Beth Lapides' UnCabaret! and a show in San Francisco on September 30 at the Oasis.

Justin Sayre is a writer, performer, and podcaster best known for his downtown cabaret/variety show The Meeting*, which ran for eight successful seasons. "The Gay Agenda," Sayre's debut comedy album, was called one of 2016's "Best Things in Comedy" by The Comedy Bureau. His original works for the theater have been shown at La MaMa, Dixon Place, The Wild Project, Queer Pop-Up Museum, Ars Nova, and The Players Club. Sayre also hosts his own iTunes podcast, SPARKLE & CIRCULATE, where he interviews performers, writers, and other creative minds of the community. As an activist, Justin's charity benefit show, "Night of a Thousand Judys," raises money for the Ali Forney Center for Homeless LGBT youth and is now in its 7th year. His debut children's novel, Husky, was deemed "a superb addition to the middle grade literary cannon" by VOYA Magazine. In July 2017, Sayre released his second children's novel, Pretty, which Publishers Weekly praised as "[a] powerful story of growth and change, brimming with honesty and hope." Additionally, Sayre was a television writer for CBS' hit comedy series, 2 Broke Girls, and appeared in Lisa Kudrow's The Comeback on HBO.
