Chicago entertainer and Emmy Award winner Scott Gryder makes his solo Davenport's debut in Life Is A Cabaret! The Music and Words of Kander & Ebb, celebrating 50 years of song from the legendary songwriting team that gave us Cabaret, Chicago, Kiss of the Spider Woman, and so many more Broadway hits.

Kander and Ebb also scored movies, most notably the theme song from Martin Scorsese's New York, New York. Recorded by many artists, "New York, New York" became a signature song for Frank Sinatra. The team also composed for Liza Minnelli (writing Liza With a Z) and Chita Rivera, for whom they wrote material for the stage, concerts and television.

Gryder's performances will be held at Davenport's Piano Bar (1383 N. Milwaukee Ave.) on Fridays, October 12 and 19 at 8pm. Tickets are $15 (with a 2-drink minimum). Reservations at www.davenportspianobar.com and (773) 278-1830.

A professional Chicago-based entertainer, Gryder is continuing his two-year run in Simply Scotty at 3160 Piano Bar & Cabaret. Many of Gryder's signature tunes are featured on his CD, Pure Imagination (2011). He has also appeared at The Theatre Building Chicago, Theater Wit, Lincoln Park Cultural Center, Sherwood Recital Hall, Skokie Theater, Wilmette Theatre, Victory Gardens Theater, Texas Tech University Lab Theatre, Park West Theater, and Spirit of Chicago Cruises.
