Porter has also worked as a composer for Sony Publishing, where he evoked the heart of R & B and pop with thought provoking song arrangements, of which top artists like Luther Vandross and The Temptations have covered his much sought after compositions.

Porter was asked to join the number one selling duo in music history Daryl Hall and John Oates performing world wide in a brand new roll as their percussionist and background vocalist. Along with this venture he is a regular on MTV Live channel and internet smash Live from Daryl's House.

In between tours with Hall & Oates and TV shows Porter is the lead singer in his own innovative cabaret/night club act that puts a new spin on popular classics not seen on the Jazz club and cabaret circuit. The entire performance is a tasty musical panoply that runs the gamut from R & B and improvisational Jazz to soul, funk, blues , Rock & Roll and more.
