Original Cast of REEFER MADNESS to Reunite in Concert at 54 Below Next Month

On April 19th & 20th, the cult classic musical Reefer Madness, with book and lyrics by Kevin Murphy and book and music by Dan Studney, will be presented in concert at 54 Below for 3 performances only. The concert will star original movie and stage cast members Christian Campbell, John Kassir, Harry S. Murphy, Amy Spanger, Robert Torti, and several guest stars to be announced soon.

Since its original Off-Broadway production in 2001, this award-winning musical has taken the world by storm and achieved a cult status in the vein of Rocky Horror and Hedwig and the Angry Inch, due in large to the successful award-winning Sundance film. Inspired by the 1936 film of the same name, this raucous musical comedy takes a tongue-in-cheek look at the hysteria caused when clean-cut kids fall prey to marijuana, leading them on a hysterical downward spiral filled with evil jazz music, sex and violence.

Directed by Ilana Ransom Toeplitz and produced by Shoshana Feinstein, this "4/20 concert event" will take place on April 19th at 11:30pm and April 20th at 7pm & 9:30pm at 54 Below (254 West 54th Street). Tickets start at $42 with a $25 minimum and can be purchased at 54Below.com.
