Olympia Dukakis, Justin Vivian Bond and More Set for Gender & Family Project's NIGHT OF 1000 GENDERS Benefit at Joe's Pub Today

The Gender & Family Project presents its first annual benefit, A Night of A Thousand Genders, an evening of cocktails followed by a very special one-night-only cabaret evening celebrating the beauty and resilience of gender nonconforming youth and their families tonight, December 2, 2013 from 6:30-9pm at Joe's Pub (425 Lafayette Street).

The first annual Night of a Thousand Genders is hosted by Oscar and Golden Globe-winning actress Olympia Dukakis ("Moonstruck", "Tales of the City") and will feature performances by Tony nominee Justin VivIan Bond ("Shortbus", Kiki and Herb: Alive on Broadway), Telly Leung ("Glee", Godspell), Our Lady J ("Picture of a Man") with musical direction by Emmy-winning composer Lance Horne.

The event is co-sponsored by Delta Air Lines, Logo TV and the Ackerman Institute for the Family with event Honorary Chair Stephen Schwartz (WICKED, GODSPELL, PIPPIN), and Event Chair Jane Miller Rennert.

The Night of a Thousand Genders begins with cocktails at 6:30PM with the benefit performance beginning at approximately 7:30PM. All proceeds from this annual event will support The Gender and Family Project's mission to raise awareness about the critical need for more services supporting families of gender nonconforming youth, at home and in schools, as well as expanding its staff and scope of these services in the greater New York area and beyond.

Individual tickets for A Night of a Thousand Genders start at $45 and include a pre-cabaret cocktail and performance seating. $150 and $250 tickets include priority performance seating.
