Niki Romijn to Bring ROOS VAN JOU MOND to Kalk Bay Theatre, Sept 19-21

Niki Romijn performs Roos van Jou Mond at Kalk Bay Theatre from 19 to 21 September at 8pm.

Roos van Jou Mond is Dutch artist Niki's acclaimed performance of the poetry of Ingrid Jonker, set to music.

About twelve years ago Niki fell in love with the poems of Ingrid Jonker. This admiration resulted in two CDs and the theatre show "Roos van Jou Mond" that toured The Netherlands for three years.

In 2008 Niki Romijn and bass player Erik Robaard were invited to come to SA to perform at the Voorkamerfest in Darling. This year it will be eighty years ago that Ingrid Jonker was born. To commemorate this event Niki Romijn and Erik Robaard return to SA for a special tribute tour.

"Roos van jou Mond" is a musical celebration of an iconic South African writer. With her expressive voice and inspired interpretation Niki Romijn makes the poems of Ingrid Jonker even more intense and heart warming. By sharing her personal thoughts with the audience, she adds another dimension to the words.

Roos van Jou Mond will be performed at Kalk Bay Theatre from 19 to 21 September at 8pm. Doors open at 6.30pm and seating is unreserved. Tickets cost R85 and can be booked at www.kbt.co.za.
