The Manhattan Association of Cabarets and Clubs (MAC) is currently accepting submissions for its two songwriting awards -- the Dottie Burman Award, and the John Wallowitch Award. You do NOT need to be a MAC member to submit your songs for these awards.

The submission period runs from September 1st through September 30th. We are unable to accept submissions received after Sept. 30. Judging will take place during the month of October. The Finalists will be announced on November 1st and the winners will be announced on November 8th.

Winners each will be awarded $500 cash, a certificate, and a performance of their song at the upcoming MAC event MAC presents They Write the Songs, to be held on November 15th at The Baruch Performing Arts Center.

Below are the qualifications and instructions for submitting for each of the awards. Note that the main difference in qualifications between the two awards is the age of the submitting songwriter:

• Songwriter cannot thus far have received significant recognition in the music industry, and may not have previously won an award from MAC for songwriting.
