Ebersole, Stritch, et al. to Perform at NY Cabaret Convention 10/7-10/9

The Mabel Mercer Foundation has announced the performers for The 21st New York Cabaret Convention.  Among the performers for this celebration of cabaret will be Elaine Stritch and Christine Ebersole.

The Cabaret Convention will begin with a Gala Opening Night on October 7.  The performers will include Klea Blackhurst, Carole Bufford, Barbara Carroll, Jeff Harnar, Nicole Henry, Barb Jungr, Amanda King, Andrea Marcovicci, Sue Mathys, and Marilyn Maye, as well as some surprise guests. The Mabel Mercer Award will be presented.

The October 8 evening performance will be entitled 'If Love Were All: The Timeless Words and Music of Noël Coward.'  This event will feature a special appearance by Elaine Stritch, as well as Nancy Anderson, Christine Ebersole, Gregg Edelman, Nicolas King, Sidney Myer, Sarah Rice, Steve Ross, Craig Rubano, Jennifer Sheehan, KT Sullivan, and some surprise guests.  The first Noël Coward Cabaret Award will be presented to Sheehan.

The October 9 evening performance, 'Songs for a Saturday Night,' will feature Karen Akers, Kevin Dozier, Tanya Holt, Karen Mason, Stearns Matthews, Amanda McBroom, Karen Oberlin, Johnny Rodgers, Avery Sommers, Lumiri Tubo, and some suprise guests.  The Julie Wilson Award will be presented to Nicholas King.

All shows will be held at 6pm at the Rose Theater, Frederick P. Rose Hall, House of Jazz at Lincoln Center, Broadway at 60th Street, New York.  Tickets range from $25 to $100; to order, call 212 980 3026 or visit www.mabelmercer.org.
