Bria Skonberg Plays the Cafe Carlyle Throughout April

The Carlyle, A Rosewood Hotel, will welcome award-winning trumpeter/vocalist/composer, Bria Skonberg, for its new "Second Act, A Late Night Series of Fun and Entertainment" at the Café Carlyle on April 11-12, 25-26, and May 23-24. Ms. Skonberg's show, Brass and Belles, is a tribute to the historic horn and female vocal pairings of greats like Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong, Anita O'Day and Roy Eldridge, and more. She will be joined by Dalton Ridenhour at the piano, Darrian Douglas on drums, and Sean Cronin on upright bass and vocals.

Ms. Skonberg was recently named as a nominee for the 2013 JJA Jazz Awards in the category of "Up and Coming Artist". Her debut American release, So Is The Day, peaked at #7 on the US National jazz charts and features an all-star ensemble including John Pizzarelli, Victor Goines, and Wycliffe Gordon.

Upcoming "Second Act, A Late Night Series of Fun and Entertainment" engagements at the Café Carlyle include William Blake and his program, "Echoes of Etta: Rhythm, Blues, Rock & Roll", on April 18-19, cabaret darling Stacy Sullivan returning with her program, "It's a Good Day/A Tribute to Miss Peggy Lee", on May 2-4, and the cosmopolitan chanteuse Yanna Avis with her new program, "In Love With Love", on May 9-10, and 16-17. Ms. Skonberg will be returning with "Brass and Belles" on May 23-24.

Café Carlyle is located in The Carlyle, A Rosewood Hotel (35 East 76th Street @ Madison Avenue). Bria Skonberg will play as part of the "Second Act, A Late Night Series of Fun and Entertainment," Thursdays and Fridays at 10:45pm on April 11-12, 25-26, and May 23-24. There is a $25 per person + $25 combined food and drink minimum on Thursdays and a $30 per person + $25 combined food and drink minimum on Fridays.
