WFUV and its indie music channel The Alternate Side are part of the action-packed CMJ Music Marathon this year. WFUV and TAS personalities Rita Houston, Russ Borris, and Alisa Ali will host a CMJ showcase with four exciting new artists - Indians, Savoir Adore, Wax Poetic , and Little Green Cars - on Tuesday, October 16, at the Living Room, 154 Ludlow St. in New York City. The showcase will be broadcast live on WFUV (90.7 FM/wfuv.org) beginning at 7 p.m. Highlights will be rebroadcast on TAS on 91.5 NYE on Thursday, October 18 from 9-11 a.m. and on TAS on FUV from 10 p.m.-midnight on Friday, October 19. The event is open to the public (first come, first serve) and there is no cover charge. Coverage is supported by TuneIn. Listen to the world.

Copenhagen's Søren Løkke Juul, who records under the moniker Indians, has made a speedy ascent since he and his bandmates only began playing live last February. Savoir Adore, the British electropop duo of Paul Hammer and Deidre Munro, are romantics with a whimsical, dreamy bent. New York band Wax Poetic, led by composer Ilhan Ersahin, has been around since the late '90s, delving into trip hop, drum and bass, jazz and more. Dublin's Little Green Cars have stealthily built a strong grassroots buzz thanks to vibrant performances at festivals and recorded their debut album this summer with producer Markus Dravs, who has worked with Arcade Fire, Björk and Mumford & Sons.

“We’re excited to do our part in showcasing indie artists from around the world,” said WFUV’s music director Rita Houston. “That sense of discovery is part and parcel of what makes both WFUV and The Alternate Side unique.”
