Rolling Stones frontman Mick Jagger thrilled the audience at last night's LATE SHOW WITH DAVID LETTERMAN by reading the night's Top Ten List. As he blew kisses to the adoring crowd, Jagger shared, "I don't deserve it but thank you!"
The subject of last night's list was "Top Ten Things I, Mick Jagger, Have Learned After 50 Years in Rock 'n' Roll." Among the items Jagger presented were: number 5: "Song royalties are great, but even they can't match the guaranteed cash flow from a reverse mortgage"; number 4: "A good way to keep yourself entertained is to sign every tenth autograph 'Doris Goldblatt'"; and number 3: "Be considerate of other hotel guests – trash your room by 10 PM."
Jagger, who first graced the Ed Sullivan Theater stage with the Stones when they made their first of many performances on "The Ed Sullivan Show" on Oct. 25, 1964, made his first appearance on the LATE SHOW last night.
The iconic band, featuring Jagger, Richards, Charlie Watts and Ron Wood, are celebrating their 50th anniversary with recently completed sold-out "50 & Counting" shows at London's O2 Arena in late November. They will rock the Prudential Center in Newark, N.J. on Thursday, Dec. 13 and Saturday, Dec. 15. Their Dec. 15 Prudential Center show, entitled "One More Shot," will be broadcast live via pay-per-view through all cable, satellite and teleco providers and online at yahoo.com at 9:00 PM, ET/6:00 PM, PT.
