On yesterday's THE TALK, guest James Brolin discussed his new CBS show "Life In Pieces" and how he channeled his father to prepare for the role. The actor said he asked his siblings to tell him all the peculiar things his father did because he wants to incorporate them into the show.

And later, Brolin's co-star Dianne Wiest shared how she can relate to that storyline, "My oldest daughter came back home after she graduated from college...There's something going on now, a lot going on now... It's a different time. You just don't strike out on your own anymore, because there is not much to strike out to."
