Stacy Keach is set to guest star on NBC's midseason comedy 1600 PENN according to The Hollywood Reporter. The actor joins the sitcom's stars Bill Pullman and 'Book of Mormon's' Josh Gad

According to the report, Keach will portray Senator Thoroughgood, described as "a wheelchair-bound, racist, sexist, bigoted senator who is being honored for 50 years of service in the Senate." In the episode, President Gilchrist and the first lady (Jenna Elfman) try to convince him to change his vote for an education bill they are attempting to pass.

Keach recently appeared in FX's critically acclaimed series Lights Out. His other credits include The Bourne Legacy, Prison Break and the miniseries Hemingway, for which he earned an Emmy nomination and Golden Globe Award.

1600 PENN tells the story of the Gilchrists, an average American family dealing with all the everyday issues – like a grown kid who's forced to move back home, children who are smarter than their teachers and a stepmom (Jenna Elfman, "Dharma and Greg") desperately trying to win over the kids. They're loving, fun and a little crazy. In other words, just like everybody else. With one exception: they live in a very special house. The White House!
