LeVar Burton has been trying to bring back Reading Rainbow and, according to LA Times, his efforts just got a big boost from Seth MacFarlane. The creator of Family Guy pledged to match any money raised in the campaign's final days, up to $1 million.

The hope is to raise a total of $5 million, which would allow Reading Rainbow to be accessed as an app by more than 7,500 classrooms for free.

The Reading Rainbow app will contain hundreds of books and virtual field trips. The idea is that it will be a learning experience for children and that it will mimic the experience of watching the actual show, which ran from 1983 to 2006.

Burton was the host for the duration of the show and it also won 26 Emmy Awards and a Peabody. For more information, click here.
