Sources have confirmed to Billboard that pop superstar Katy Perry will perform at the SUPER BOW XLIX's halftime show.

Back in August, the National Football League reportedly included Perry on a shortlist of possible performers, along with Coldplay and Rihanna. Along with the report came word that the three possible candidates had been asked to "pay to play", as a result of last year's broadcast delivering a record-breaking 111 million viewers, creating significant spikes in album sales, tour ticket sales and overall public profile.

Last Saturday, Perry appeared on ESPN's College Game Day, ironically commenting, "I'm not the kind of girl who would pay to play the Super Bowl."

As of now, the NFL has not officially commented on the report.

Perry has received many awards and nominations, including eleven Grammy nominations. Billboard dubbed her 2012's Woman of the Year. She has been listed in the Forbes "Top-Earning Women In Music" for 2011, 2012, and 2013.

Perry is the only artist to spend 69 consecutive weeks in the top ten of the Hot 100. Throughout her career, she has sold more than 11 million albums and 81 million singles worldwide, making her one of the best-selling artists of all time. She has six quintuple-platinum certified singles in the United States, more than any other artist.
