Tonight's June 17th finale of HBO's GIRLS will include NYC singer/songwriter Abby Bernstein's song, "Spend the Night," a match made in heaven for the four girls, Hannah, Marnie, Jessa, and Shoshanna.

Bernstein describes her song, saying "Although the title 'Spend the Night' sounds purely sexy, the song itself also speaks to the vulnerability of opening yourself up to someone and the need to have that person stay and accept you scars and all."

Bernstein will give a preview of what's to come on her forthcoming album release when she releases her new single "Mary's Son" on June 12th. The song is about the protagonist's love affair with the son of an Ivy League English Professor with plays on religious figures Mary and Jesus. Bernstein describes the song as "upbeat and fun, alternating between a ska-like beat in the verses to a more rock-driven chorus." The single is off her upcoming sophomore album, Talk in Tongues, which is set to release in early August.

The 24-year-old singer/songwriter has been creating a name for herself in the music scene in the recent years. With her songs already heard on shows on MTV, VH1, and ABC, Bernstein also opened up for the Barenaked Ladies last year. She has been performing all over NYC including famous venues such as B.B. King Blues Club & Grill, Rockwood Music Hall, and her most recent performance at The Living Room.
