Freeform Announces FUNDAY Weekend Programming Highlights

Freeform knows that sometimes the best way to spend your weekend is with wacky characters. So, race your way to the couch for a weekend full of animation! Cruise along the highway with Lightning McQueen, create chaos with the Minions, tag along with the Incredibles, and explore outer space with WALL-E. The adventures begin during April's "Funday" weekend programming event starting SATURDAY, APRIL 23 and continuing through SUNDAY, APRIL 24.

The highlights are:

Saturday, April 23
(4:15 - 7:00 p.m. EDT) DISNEY - PIXAR'S CARS 2
"Cars 2" is a laugh-out-loud, heart-warming adventure geared for the entire family. Star racecar Lightning McQueen (Owen Wilson) and the incomparable tow truck Mater (Larry the Cable Guy) take their friendship on the road from Radiator Springs to exciting new places when they head overseas to compete in the first-ever World Grand Prix to determine the world's fastest car. But the road to the championship is filled with plenty of potholes, detours and hilarious surprises when Mater gets caught up in an intriguing adventure of his own: international espionage! (7:00 - 9:00 p.m. EDT) DESPICABLE ME
In a happy suburban neighborhood surrounded by white picket fences and flowering rose bushes sits a black house with a dead lawn. Unbeknownst to the neighbors, hidden deep beneath this home is a vast secret hideout belonging to Gru (Steve Carrell), a dastardly villain who, along with the help of his many little Minions, is planning the biggest heist in the history of the world: he's going to steal the moon! But his plans are foiled the day he encounters the immense will of three little orphaned girls who look at him and see something that no one else has ever seen: a potential dad. This smash hit boasts a stellar all-star vocal cast that includes Julie Andrews, Jason Segel, Russell Brand, Danny McBride, Will Arnett, Kristen Wiig, Mindy Kaling and more. "Despicable Me" repeats on Sunday, April 24 at 5:00 p.m. EDT.

(9:00- 11:45 p.m. EDT) DISNEY - PIXAR'S THE INCREDIBLES
This action-packed animated adventure is about a seemingly ordinary family with an incredible secret. Known to the world as superheroes Mr. Incredible (Craig T. Nelson) and Elastigirl (Holly Hunter), Bob Parr and his wife Helen were among the world's greatest crime fighters, saving lives and battling evil on a daily basis. Fifteen years later, they have been forced to adopt civilian identities and retreat to the suburbs to live "normal" lives with their three kids, Violet, Dash and Jack-Jack. Itching to get back into action, Bob gets his chance when a mysterious communication summons him to a remote island for a top secret assignment. He soon discovers that it will take a super family effort to rescue the world from total destruction. Disney-Pixar's "The Incredibles" repeats on Sunday, April 24 at 7:00 p.m. EDT.

(11:45 p.m. - 2:00 a.m. EDT) DISNEY - PIXAR'S WALL-E
Set in a galaxy not so very far away, after hundreds of lonely years doing what he was built for, WALL•E (Waste Allocation Load Lifter Earth-Class) discovers a new purpose in life when he meets a sleek search robot named EVE (Extra-terrestrial Vegetation Evaluator). EVE soon realizes WALL•E has inadvertently stumbled upon the key to the planet's future and races back to space to report her findings to the humans waiting aboard the luxury spaceship Axiom for news that it is safe to return home. Meanwhile, WALL•E chases EVE across the galaxy and sets into motion one of the most incredible comedy adventures ever brought to the big screen. Disney-Pixar's "WALL-E" repeats on Sunday, April 24 at 9:45 p.m. EDT.
