96.3 Star Country presents Winter Star Fest Starring Josh Thompson, Thomas Rhett and Due West, tonight, January 18th at 7:30 pm.

Join us for an evening "under the stars" for a winterized version of a Madison favorite - Star Fest, hosted by Tracy & Mike! This show will heat things up in The Middle of winter with acoustic sets from Showdog Universal artist Josh Thompson, Valory Music artist Thomas Rhett and Black River Entertainment artist Due West. Plus, proceeds from Winter Star Fest benefiting American Family Children's Hospital. Winter Star Fest is sponsored by Dane County Auto Sales.

Country artist Josh Thompson kicked off his career in 2009, when the songwriter released his first single, "Beer on the Table," and co-authored a song for Jason Michael Carroll's Top Ten album Growing Up Is Getting Old. A native of western Wisconsin, Thompson began pouring concrete alongside his father at the age of 12, and a sense of blue-collar pride soon found its way into his music. He moved to Nashville in 2005, assembled a band, and received a boost when Columbia Records signed him to the label's country division. "Beer on the Table" became a Top 40 country single in 2009, marking Thompson's first taste of chart success, and he spent the rest of the year touring and finalizing his debut album.

Georgia-born singer/songwriter Thomas Rhett, the son of award-winning country crooner Rhett Akins, didn't start seriously considering following in his father's footsteps until his senior year in high school. Raised on a steady diet of Merle Haggard, Hank Williams, Led Zeppelin, and the Rolling Stones, Rhett inked a publishing deal with EMI just two years into his college career, and landed a song ("I Ain't Ready to Quit") on fellow country rocker Jason Aldean's 2010 release, My Kind of Party. Like Aldean, Brantley Gilbert, and Justin Moore, Rhett splits the difference between slick, contemporary country and rowdy good-time rock & roll, an equation he put to the test on his 2011 debut single "Something to Do with My Hands."

Due West is an up-and-coming country group composed of Matt Lopez, Tim Gates and Brad Hull. Their song, "Things You Can't Do In A Car" landed them a spot in the annual 96.3 Star Country Top 96 songs of 2012 countdown.
