Taylor Stayton will sing the role of Percy in this evening's performance of Donizetti's Anna Bolena, replacing Stephen Costello, who is ill.

Stayton made his Met debut in the same role in 2011 and is scheduled to sing it in this season's October 9 and 13 performances. He also sang Elvino in Bellini's La Sonnambula at the Met in 2014 and will add a new role to his repertory with the company when he sings Count Almaviva in Rossini's The Barber of Seville this December and January. The American tenor's other performances this season include Idreno in Rossini's Semiramide with Washington Concert Opera and Arturo in Donizetti's Lucia di Lammermoor at the Royal Opera, Covent Garden.

Tonight's performance of Anna Bolena, conducted by Marco Armiliato, stars Sondra Radvanovsky in the title role, Jamie Barton as Giovanna Seymour, Tamara Mumford as Smeton, and Ildar Abdrazakov as Enrico VIII.
