On May 31st, OperaDelaware will offer two performances of its new production of The Three Little Pigs, a one-act opera featuring the music of Mozart to retell the tale that is familiar to all children.

As part of our mission to bring live, professional opera to elementary school audiences, OperaDelaware will be touring this fully-staged production throughout the region. Sung in English, this version is adapted especially for kids and tells the story of how the three pigs learn the importance of reading books as they attempt to build a house that is "wolf-resistant".

This opera was written and compiled by nationally renowned composer and arts educator, John Davies. All of the music forThe Three Little Pigs is excerpted from the operas of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Arias and ensembles are performed from Don Giovanni, Cosi fan tutte, The Marriage of Figaro, The Magic Flute, making this event a perfect introduction to opera for kindergarten through fifth grade.
