Opera del West will be holding auditions for Chekhov's The Seagull with music by Thomas Pasatieri. This will be the New England première of this neo-romantic opera. It will be stage directed by Brenda Huggins and music directed by Eve Budnick. Performances will be held August 1st and 3rd at The Center for Arts in Natick, MA.

Auditions will be held at Boston University's College of Fine Arts on the evenings of May 14, 15, and the afternoons of May 17, 18. In order to apply, please send a resume to auditions@operadelwest.org. Auditions will be given starting the first week in May. If you are offered an audition, bring two contrasting arias, one in English, and a headshot. A pianist will be provided, but you may bring your own pianist if your repertoire is particularly difficult. For additional info about the opera, visit www.operadelwest.org.

Rehearsals for this performance will begin on July 7th at the BU College of Fine Arts. Tech week rehearsals will be held at The Center for Arts in Natick. We perform fully staged operas with piano accompaniment on a small budget. We can offer the leads a small travel stipend that covers gas expenses for those that live in the Boston area.
For additional questions contact Eve Budnick at eve@operadelwest.org.
