NYCO Renaissance and Opera New York Bid for Remaining Assets of New York City Opera

New York City Opera has filed for bankruptcy and sold its costumes and instruments; however, the NYCO Renaissance bid $1.25 million for the City Opera, and Opera New York raised the bid to $1.5 million for its remaining assets.

New York City Opera has selected the NYCO Renaissance proposal from among a number of others to purchase its assets, including intellectual property assets such as its name and trademark. The proposed transaction remains subject to bankruptcy court approval The board's deadline is Thursday to announce the buyer when the Court will approval any sale.
