The Board of Directors of the Modell Performing Arts Center at The Lyric are pleased to announce the appointment of Vickie L. Hubbard, CFE as the organization's new Executive Director. Hubbard will assume her role on January 3, 2017.

"Vickie brings extensive experience in performing arts programming, venue management, and development and strategic planning," remarked Board Chairman Cleaveland Miller. "Her career in the arts and entertainment industry aligns well with The Lyric's commitment to providing audiences in Baltimore a wide spectrum of performing arts experiences - from ballet and opera to comedy and contemporary artists across all genres. The board and staff are enthusiastic about the energy she brings to The Lyric."

Highly respected in the arts management world for her strategic thinking, rigorous program management, and revenue generating acumen, Hubbard is a Certified Facilities Executive holding a Master's Degree in Sports/Venue management. Hubbard was previously the Executive Director of the Pullo Family Performing Arts Center in York, PA, and Hempfield Recreation Commission in Landisville PA and on the executive management team as Director of Ticketing, Sports and Entertainment for Hershey Entertainment and Resorts in Hersey PA. Expertly addressing the challenges of programming performance seasons, Hubbard brings to The Lyric over 25 years of leadership experience and an energizing passion for the arts and culture community.

A comprehensive national search by Board committee identified several extremely well-qualified candidates from within and outside of the performing arts industry. "Vickie's enthusiasm about the opportunity to shape the future of The Lyric, coupled with her impressive credentials and reputation for success leading the operations of a number of diverse venues-this made her the right choice," said Board Chairman Emeritus Ed Brody, chair of the search committee. "We are confident in Vickie's ability to continue the tradition of this historic theater."
