Luca Salsi will sing Enrico in all performances of Donizetti's Lucia di Lammermoor at the Met this season, replacing Fabio Capitanucci, who has withdrawn for personal reasons. Salsi, who will be making his Met role debut as Lucia's villainous brother, will sing Enrico on March 16, 19, 24, 28 matinee, April 1, 4, 7, and 10.

Last week, Salsi gave an acclaimed performance of the title role in Rossini's Guglielmo Tell in a concert performance with Teatro Regio Torino at Carnegie Hall. His other engagements this season include the title role in Verdi's Macbeth at Bari's Teatro Petruzzelli; Germont in Verdi's La Traviata with Teatro Regio Torino, Venice's La Fenice, and Paris Opera; and Don Carlo in Verdi's Ernani at the Salzburg Festival under the baton of Riccardo Muti. He made his Met debut as Sharpless in Puccini's Madama Butterfly in 2007 and returned in the role in 2011.

This season's performances of Lucia di Lammermoor are conducted by Maurizio Benini and also star Albina Shagimuratova in the title role, Joseph Calleja as Edgardo, and Alastair Miles and Oren Gradus as Raimondo.
