Bryan Hymel and Charles Castronovo will sing the role of Rodolfo in the next three Met performances of La Bohème, replacing Ramón Vargas, who is recovering from an illness.

Hymel will sing the role in tomorrow evening's performance. The American tenor, who made his Met role debut as Rodolfo earlier this season, also stepped in on short notice to sing last Friday evening's performance. Castronovo will make his Met role debut as Rodolfo on November 24 and 28.

Vargas is expected to return to the role December 1 for four performances through December 13.

All three performances will also star Sonya Yoncheva as Mimì, Myrtò Papatanasiu as Musetta, David Bizic as Marcello, Alessio Arduini as Schaunard, Matthew Rose as Colline, and John Del Carlo as Benoit and Alcindoro. Riccardo Frizza conducts.
