The Shacks Announce Spring Tour; Eponymous EP Out Now

Equal parts Max Shrager and Shannon Wise, The Shacks have a unique sound that is both vaguely familiar and completely fresh. Joining both Khruangbin and Chicano Batman, the NYC four-piece announces a spring run of dates in support of its recently released eponymous EP, which is out now via Big Crown Records.

"We're hitting some historic music cities this spring, so we'll have unique inspiration to draw from each night," shares Shrager. "The Band and Neil Young in Toronto, Willie Nelson, Ernest Tubb and so many other country music legends in Nashville, and Motown in Detroit."

Since the release of, "Strange Boy," which they recorded with El Michels Affair, The Shacks have been compared to 90's indie icons like Mazzy Star, Jesus and Mary Chain and Broadcast. As good as those bands are, you wouldn't find a single one of their records in Max and Shannon's music collection. All these bands are drinking from the same well, just 20 years apart.

The Shacks EP is available at Big Crown as 10" vinyl and the digital and CD versions include two bonus tracks. The band's full-length LP is due this year.
