The Infamous Stringdusters Announce New Label

THE INFAMOUS STRINGDUSTERS--nominated at this year's GRAMMYs for "Best Bluegrass Album"--have announced the formation of their new label, Tape Time Records. The band is excited to also reveal Tape Time's first signing: acclaimed bluegrass band Horseshoes & Hand Grenades.

"It's a natural progression for us," says Jeremy Garrett, fiddler for The Infamous Stringdusters. "We've been with different labels and had an array of experiences, and just thought that a record company by and for musicians is the way to go. We want to put out the best music possible--of ours and our friends--and do it with full control over all aspects." Horseshoes & Hand Grenades' Adam Greuel says, "We have long admired the Stringdusters - their ability to hone their craft to something that's unique to themselves is admirable. I think they also see that in young bands and they've been consistently encouraging of us through the years. We're super proud of the energy in this record and it's a joy for it to be the first release of the new label."

Meanwhile, the STRINGDUSTERS--Andy Hall (dobro), Andy Falco (guitar), Chris Pandolfi (banjo), Jeremy Garrett (fiddle), and Travis Book (upright bass)--will take a quick break from their current "Across The Great Divide" national tour and are all headed to New York City for this weekend's Grammy Awards, where they are up for "Best Bluegrass Album" for 2017's acclaimed Laws Of Gravity record. After a week off, the band will return to tour (with Horseshoes & Hand Grenades) February 7 in Louisville, KY; all dates listed

Wisconsin-based Horseshoes & Hand Grenades will release their fourth album, The Ode on February 16, via Tape Time Records / Amplified, with the new single "Steer True" available February 2.
The STRINGDUSTERS--hailed for their incomparably tight yet improvisation-infused live shows--are building on their growing fan base and momentum. They have won four International Bluegrass Music Association awards, earned a "Best Country Instrumental" Grammy nomination in 2011 and garnered widespread critical acclaim. Of Laws Of Gravity, the New York Times' Jon Pareles said "Infamous Stringdusters is a virtuoso five-man string band, rooted in bluegrass but ready to stretch...the songs are even better: ruminations on time, distance, mortality, purpose, shared humanity and long-term love," while Rolling Stone cited it as one of the most anticipated country albums of 2016. American Songwriter added, "Credit the five-piece for writing effortlessly melodic songs...that stretch the confines of their genre, specifically into a bluesier, more R&B approach that really connects."
After seven years, three albums, innumerable sold out shows, and countless beers, bluegrass mavericks Horseshoes & Hand Grenades appropriately consider themselves a "family" on a wild, wonderful, and often whacky roller coaster. The bond between the quintet--David C. Lynch (harmonica, accordion, spoons, vocals), Collin Mettelka (fiddle, mandolin, vocals), Russell Pedersen (banjo, fiddle, vocals), Adam Greuel (guitar, dobro, vocals), and Samual Odin (bass)--fuels their creativity and chemistry on stage and in the studio.
