NYC-based rock/pop singer and songwriter, Samia, is set to release her debut self-titled EP today, July 16, 2013. With influences such as Janis Joplin, Alanis Morissette and Tina Turner, Samia delivers the full package with her powerful and sultry vocals, charisma and bold sexuality along with her upbeat, pulsating rock sound.

Samia has generated quite a stir within the LGBTQ community. Her new video for her song "We Have the Right" has already been featured on AfterEllen.com, Huffington Post Gay Voices, and is getting played on a number of online LGBTQ talk shows, including This Show is So Gay. The song will be a bonus track on Samia's debut self-titled EP.

Samia and her band first shined their way into the spotlight in the Fall of 2012, debuting at the famous Brooklyn Bowl in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Since then, Samia and her four talented players have appeared at other New York City hotspot venues including The Greenpoint Gallery, The Bitter End and Tammany Hall. Earlier this year, Samia appeared to a packed house at Arlene's Grocery in celebration of releasing their debut single "Lose Me", which they released in May 2013.

Often described as a "female Steven Tyler", Samia is quickly becoming known for her larger-than-life vocal prowess and raw, passionate performances, drawing strong comparisons to Tina Turner, Katy Perry, and Freddie Mercury. On the album, Samia is joined by a stellar group of musicians: Matt Zebroski (drums), Lucas Shine (guitar), Bryan Wescott Smith (guitar & keys), and Jake Leschinsky (bass).

Samia and her band will celebrate their debut album release at their upcoming CD release show at Rockwood Music Hall in NYC on Thursday, July 18th at 9pm (no cover).
