Realm of Design Inc., an architectural reproductions and design company, recently launched a Facebook campaign to encourage The Rolling Stones to visit the company's new facility inspired by Swarkestone Hall Pavilion in England-the location of one of the band's most famous photo shoots. The exterior façade of the facility is made from green architectural stone, invented by Realm of Design's founder Scott McCombs.

The inspiration for the look of the facility came after McCombs saw a poster of the back cover of The Rolling Stones' album Hot Rocks: 1964-1971. Construction on the facility began May 2009 and is on schedule to be completed by the end of August 2010.

"We are building our new facility to house the production of our aged and green stone products," said McCombs. "The building is just as much a tribute to The Rolling Stones as it is a project of passion to us. We hope the band will see our efforts on Facebook and accept the invitation to visit us."

McCombs spent more than three years developing and perfecting the green architectural stone, made from 100 percent-recycled glass aggregate and 99.8 percent renewable materials, including pozzolan cement. When complete, the new facility will utilize more than 200,000 pounds of recycled materials, including 100,000 pounds of recycled glass from Las Vegas Strip hotels.

In addition to utilizing green stone in the new facility, Realm of Design is now offering the innovative and environmentally friendly product to its clients. The green stone can be developed into several interior and exterior Realm of Design architectural elements, including: columns, balustrades, fireplaces, mantels, flooring, wall sconces, fountains, domes and gazebos, among others.

"We are excited to offer the green stone to our customers and to provide them an opportunity to be green," said McCombs. "Glass takes nearly 4,000 years to decompose and is piling up in landfills. By using the glass in our green stone, we are closing the glass-recycling loop in Southern Nevada."
