On his first U.S. national tour in 25 years, R&B singer Billy Ocean will perform at the Gallo Center for the Arts on Tuesday, March 3. Curtain is at 7:30 pm.

Tickets for the concert are $29 to $69, and may be purchased online at www.galloarts.org, by calling (209) 338-2100, or from the Gallo Center ticket office at 1000 I Street in downtown Modesto.

Born in Trinidad, Ocean's family settled in London's East End when he was seven years old. The calypso-crazy kid idolized soul singers like Otis Redding and Sam Cooke as well as pop groups like The Beatles and The Rolling Stones, which led to spending much of his time in his home's music room.

Ocean would go on to become the most prominent R&B star ever to hail from the United Kingdom, selling more 30 million records in his lifetime. Among his many international hits are "Love Really Hurts without You," "Love on Delivery," "Stop Me," "Caribbean Queen (No More Love On The Run)," "When the Going gets Tough (The Tough Get Going)," and of course the classic "Get Outta My Dreams, Get Into My Car."
