Up and coming Los Angeles duo Toyko are reminding everyone to keep some perspective in the past, present, and future on their latest track "Golden Ones," available today (July 26) exclusively on Billboard. After a rare Craiglist connection gone right led to the band's formation and a buzzy reception for lead single "You Do" in May, the group -- comprised of New York and Boston transplants Zac and Matt -- have reason to reflect on the "big picture." Stream now here!

"Our intention...was to get the listener to take a step back and think about the past," the band says of the song's hook. "We've been fortunate enough to make it this far in this great baton-pass game of life, and it is now our turn to hold the torch."

The heady ambition behind Toyko has allowed the as-of-yet unsigned duo to blend their deep, impactful views with epic, electropop production. The second half of the chorus points to the future, which is often where the band is looking with their experimental sound.

"Like everyone that has come before us, it is now our turn to set up a successful stage for generations to come," the band says. "Yes, sports cars and the luxuries of life can be fun, but realize the responsibilities we've inherited by pulling the golden ticket."

With another catchy track in the bank and an EP release slotted for later this summer, one can't blame Toyko for looking forward when everything looks so bright.
