Acclaimed classical and jazz guitarist Michael Sheridan returns to Northampton Community Music Center with his new band on Friday, November 4th at 7:00pm. Pulling from every element of his diverse musical training this new show features an original sound Sheridan calls Samba Surf. In addition to Sheridan on guitar, band members include: Ben Rosenblum on piano and accordion, Ben Rubens on bass, and Ben Zweig on percussion.

Northhapton Community Music Center is located at 139 South Street in Northampton, MA. Showtime is at 7:00 pm and admission is a $10.00 suggested donation.

Michael Sheridan is a New York metro area guitarist trained in classical and jazz guitar. Self-taught from the age of six, Sheridan studied formally in his late 20's. He attended Westfield University to study with Phil de Fremery (who was trained by Segovia and Oscar Ghiglia). Sheridan then studied with Fred Hand and received his Masters of Music in Classical Guitar Performance from the Mannes School of Music in New York City.

Sheridan has perfomed with some of the best guitarists in the world including Roland Dyens, Stephane Wrembel, Sebastian Felix, Joao Luiz and Kamlo Barre. He released his first solo album, Prelude, in 2013. Prelude received solid reviews including a review from www.ThisIsClassicalGuitar.com that raved, " Buy this album for the joy of hearing the Dyens and arrangements as we could all learn a lesson from Sheridan's keen sense of musical gestures. Love it!".
