Magic Potion's Debut LP 'Pink Gum' Out 5/27

Known for their unique brand of warped slacker pop, Stockholm's Magic Potion burst onto the scene in the spring of 2015 with their critically acclaimed Melt EP, gaining comparisons to the likes of Velvet Underground, Real Estate, and more. Holed up in their small studio in the suburbs of Stockholm for over a year, the band returns with their debut album Pink Gum set for release on May 27th via Swedish DIY label, PNKSLM Recordings. The album includes singles "Deep Web" and "Booored" from the Melt EP along with eight new tracks that truly find the band coming into their own.

Pink Gum is a record of lush compositions that fuses dream-psych and post-punk influences. Recorded, produced, and mixed by Magic Potion themselves, the album is a testament of their distinct artistry and sophisticated musicianship. Lead single "Milk" is highlighted by '70s flecked guitars and echoing howls that FADER proclaimed blissful. "Cola Boyys" radiates a grittier garage feel driven by an insistent bass line. The band effortlessly pivots to a more experimental vibe on "Jelly" which features swirling synthesizers and reverb drenched guitars.

Magic Potion is made up of Gustaf Montelius (vocals/guitar), Andreas Sandberg (drums),Kristoffer Byström (bass), and Johan Harrius (guitar). Recorded on an old reel-to-reel, the band takes an eccentric approach on Pink Gum and emerge with a work that radiates a warm, refreshing vibe just in time for summer.
