Levitate Music and Arts Festival (LMF) has blossomed into one of New England's premier boutique festivals. Pollstar recently nominated the festival "Music Festival Of The Year" for the 2016 Pollstar Concert Industry Awards. The festival sits alongside some of the most prominent U.S. festivals including the Newport Folk Festival, Newport Jazz Festival, Treasure Island Festival, and the Shaky Knees Festival. Daniel Hassett, founder and festival producer, contributes their growth and continued success to the top tier musical talent, a homegrown vibe with local artists and vendors, and Levitate's harmonious relationship with the community. Hassett enthusiastically states, "We are humbled and honored to be considered for Pollstar's "Music Festival Of The Year" and proud to be among prestigious company."

On Saturday, July 9, 2016, music and art lovers came together at the historic Marshfield Fairgrounds in Massachusetts to listen to an explosive line up. The Levitate Music and Arts Festival 2016 featured "The Wheels of Soul Tour" with Tedeschi Trucks Band, Los Lobos, and North Mississippi Allstars, alongside Rebelution, Lettuce, Stick Figure, Moon Taxi, Twiddle, Nahko and Medicine for the People, The Movement, and Ron Gallo. The festival has received high critical praise with The Boston Globe selecting it numerous times as a "festival" and "event" pick for the summer, while tastemaker media outlets featured LMF including Vanyaland, Jambase, and Live for Live Music, who raved about the "supremely stacked" and "explosive" lineup. This yearly family friendly event, currently planning the fifth year, boasts camping, VIP areas, local vendors and a homegrown feel.

Prior to becoming a festival, Levitate was (and still is) a community oriented surf/skate shop and apparel line. When Daniel and Jessica Hassett took over Levitate from the founder Bob Pollard, they continued the tradition to lift up and grow the surrounding communities of Marshfield. For more than a decade, Levitate continues to be involved with youth programs, beach cleanups, surf and skateboard contests and fundraising initiatives. Every year the organization donates a portion of the proceeds to the Boys and Girls Club of Marshfield, this year they raised over $18,000. In addition to the Boys and Girls Club, LMF also partners with the Strength Foundation, ZWoods Scholarship, and South Shore Conservatory.

Levitate Music and Arts Festival is already ramping up for summer of 2017. Due to the success and demand of LMF, the event has expanded to two days! Next year's event will take place on July 8th and 9t
