Kehlani Taps The Oakland School For The Performing Arts For New Video BUTTERFLY

Today Kehlani officially unveils her newest video, "Butterfly." The making of the video proved to be a heartfelt full circle moment as she tapped on the amazing students and faculty members of her former school, Oakland School for the Arts. Her former dance teacher, Mr. Savage, and old production design teacher, Jean Francois Revon, recruited amazingly talented students who then contributed to the set's design and created the video's entire choreography all within a time span of 3 days. The two young male dancers,Munir and Musa Omar, are also current students of the school.

The "Butterfly" video arrives after the playful video for "Nunya" ft Dom Kennedy and the futuristic "Nights Like This" ft Ty Dolla $ign which Billboard declared to be her "magnum opus." Kehlani's latest mixtape release WHILE WE WAIT has recently made its chart debut in the top 10 of the Billboard Top 200 (consumption) while reigning at #1 on the iTunes Overall R&B Albums and Current R&B Albums charts. Pitchfork labeled the mixtape as "her strongest, most distilled release" while PAPER stated "if WHILE WE WAIT is any indication, that sophomore album will be one of the musical highlights of 2019."
