On Friday, July 21, Brooklyn-based "Future Soul' up-and-comer-JOSH JACOBSON-will release the second production from his 'From The Roots' video series-which highlights the upcoming debut EP (due out Fall 2017) through live performances. Filmed in 4K on RED cameras, the space in the series was created with the help of director Chiara Gerek as a place of solitude for JOSH to express First Light in its purest form with his collaborators.

This edition of the 'From The Roots' series comes after the official release of JACOBSON's second single from First Light-"Tethered." It showcases the tune's thought-provoking symbolism and dynamic meshing of synths with live horn-play for an electro-jazz vibration, through a live rendition that includes a spotlight o trumpet player, Kyla Moscovich. The live performance showcases JOSH JACOBSON's unique undertaking of bringing elements of jazz and classical music into his electronic productions.

JOSH says of the video series: "There's a certain kind of magic that only happens when people are in a room playing their instruments together, and that feeling is what I love most about being a musician. My goal with From the Roots is to share that feeling with my fans, many of whom aren't necessarily into jazz or instrumental music. I hope to build bridges with this project-maybe some of the dance music heads will be encouraged to check out more jazz, and vice versa.
