The inaugural Perth International Jazz Festival (PIJF) will take over the city for one weekend only from Friday 24 May - Sunday 26 May 2013, presenting 35 jazz performances across 7 stages throughout Perth and Northbridge.

Ticketed performances will play at the Perth Concert Hall, The Gardens at Bishop's See and The Ellington Jazz Club. The numerous FREE events will be performed at Brookfield Place, Perth Cultural Centre, Weld Square and Barrack Square.

The three-day festival will feature a host of incredible local, national and international jazz artists including Grammy-award winning Joe Lovano, Katie Noonan, Vince Jones, Kneebody and Hank Marvin. PIJF also includes the Abbey Foster Falle album launch, children's events and the return to Perth of some familiar faces especially for the festival.

Founded by Associate Professor Graham Wood, PIJF will deliver the highest quality Jazz program from a wide range of popular and innovative international, national and local Jazz artists for audiences. Artistic Director of PIJF, Wood is also! Program Director of Music at the esteemed Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts.

PIJF will be the only dedicated Jazz festival in Western Australia and will develop into an annual event on Perth's cultural calendar. There are approximately 35 other jazz festivals nationally of various scales.

The three-day festival anticipates an attendance of 15,000 people across the ticketed and free events in its first year. PIJF's Ambassador and is The Right Honourable The Lord Mayor Lisa Scaffidi.

PIJF is funded from a range of sources including major government partner Lotterywest, NAB, The City of Perth, The City of Vincent, The Metropolitan Redevelopment Authority, and a range of corporate partners. PIJF is a not for profit incorporated association.
