The Rewind Show
with live performances and celebrity DJs
21 or over to enter
Doors at 10:30pm, Show at 11:00pm
$20 at door
RSVP to info@4kent.com
The Rewind Show is a vision we have had for as long as we have been in the business of night clubs and event planning. We are tired of the same concept that every night-club in NYC has been stuck with over the years and think that it's time to change the way to party! As we all know nothing can compare to a live performance and therefore we have created the Rewind Show! We want to bring an experience like no other by combining the live music of the 80's Rock & Roll era along with the best DJ's spinning the present hits. Every Saturday night, the Highline Ballroom will operate as a high-end night club to let people experience the Rewind Show. (http://therewindshow.com/)

Monday, August 2
NNEKA
with Bajah & The Dry Eye Crew
Doors at 7:00pm, Show at 9:00pm
$15 adv, $17 at door
"I get inspired when I take a severe look at the things going on in our world today; especially in my country. How people live, suffer and endure pain, politics and religion, when I see all that man has evoked and created out of self-centeredness and devotion to material things". Nneka's voice strikes an eerie balance between rage and pain which mirror's the abrasion of two continents, Europe and Africa, within Nneka's life so far. Nneka reiterates her humility in the face of her musical talents. "I do not see myself as a performer but as somebody who shares her heartfelt feelings with others. I have fortunately, by the grace of God, the opportunity to sing my message to you on stage."

Tuesday, August 3
THE YOSHIDO BROTHERS
Doors at 6:00pm, Show at 8:00pm
$25 adv, $30 at door
Superstars in their native Japan, young Tsugaru-shamisen virtuosos Ryoichiro and Kenichi Yoshida -The Yoshida Brothers- have effected nothing short of a cultural revolution with a muscular reinvention of the ancient three-stringed instrument, giving it the fiery passion of a rock n roll guitar. Online world music portal World Music Central notes, Clad in formal, ceremonial attire of kimonos and hakama pants, but sporting the dyed Light Brown hair that is trendy among Japans savvy youth, the Brothers play the age-old Tsugaru-shamisenan instrument akin to a rustic three-stringed banjowith the fervor of Jimi Hendrix. Beyond the rock star status these Pacific Rim mavericks have achieved at home with their signature East-meets-West interpretation of a time-honored musical form, they are fast winning major international acclaim as well. By coaxing startlingly vivid sounds out of their timeless instruments, they have reinvigorated Tsugaru-shamisen for a new generation, incorporating elements of jazz, American folk, pop, Latin music, blues and more into their unique musical tapestry.

The revolutionary dirty dozen from Mexico-City PANTEÓN ROCOCÓ is more vital, more aggressive and better than ever! The one and only irresistible Ska-Punk Mix of PANTEÒN ROCOCÒ - spiced up with Latinamérican elements and a massive percussion edge. They blend several styles of popular music such as rock, punk, salsa, cumbia, mariachi, reggae, ska, and also mestizo-music into a very energetic, groovy sound. As they are very political people and sympazise with the EZLN in Chiapas, some of their lyrics contain political statements, but many of them are love-songs.
