Hennepin Theatre Trust announced today that its on-the-rise New Century Sessions series will continue with three exciting local acts.

Mark Mallman, singer/songwriter and "mad genius," performs Friday, Sept. 26; Mayda, fusing pop, rock and electronic styles, is back from touring Korea and Europe for a CD launch concert on Wednesday, Oct. 29; and Matt Wilson & John Munson, the former Trip Shakespeare members, hit the scene with a new rock duo groove on Friday, Nov. 7, 2014. Tickets for Mayda and Matt Wilson & John Munson go on sale at 11 a.m. on Friday, August 22. Tickets for Mark Mallman are already available. All concerts begin at 7:30 p.m. in the Trust's intimate New Century Theatre in City Center in downtown Minneapolis.

This Minnesota music series gives musicians a chance to not only play, but to share insights about their work when they respond to audience questions. New Century Sessions launched in September 2013 and was called the "best new local music series" by Tim Gihring of Minnesota Monthly. The series, as well as initiatives like Made Here and The Parklot, add to the burgeoning activity of the new downtown Cultural District.

Depending on the performance, prices range from $10 to $25, general admission. VIP packages are available from between $34 and $42, depending on the artist, and include premium seating, a pre-show Meet & Greet with the artists at 6:15 p.m., a complimentary drink ticket and a piece of signed artist memorabilia. Tickets can be purchased online at HennepinTheatreTrust.org, in person at the New Century Theatre Box Office (no service fees), 615 Hennepin Ave., ground floor, City Center, downtown Minneapolis or by calling 612-455-9501.
