Esme Patterson to Present at 'TEDxMileHigh: Women', 11/16
Folk & roll songwriter and current founding member of Paper Bird, Esmé Patterson is honored to be performing at November 16th's TEDxMileHigh: Women (#TEDxMHWomen).
The theme of the second annual event is "Values + Instincts," inviting both women and men to explore pressing issues of our time through Colorado perspectives but with global relevance. With appearances playing with various groups on "All Things Considered", "The Late Show with David Letterman" and "The Tonight Show," Patterson released her solo album, All Princes, I, on November 20th of 2012. It received acclaim from from NPR, Daytrotter, American Songwriter, WXPN, Colorado Public Radio, Open Air, Westword, Reverb, and 5280.
Since then, she has released videos for "My Young Man" (featuring Nathaniel Rateliff), which was shot by Colorado filmmaker Rett Rogers along the foothills of the Rocky Mountains in a hot air balloon, as well as "The Swimmer," shot by filmmaker Isaac Ravishankara at the Seattle Aquarium. Patterson was featured in the New York Times as part of a piece on the Lumineers and the vibrant Denver music scene, as well as MTV's 'This is the Place,' and her session for "My Young Man" was chosen as part of The 2012 Best Songs of Daytrotter. She is currently working on an album of response songs that are the female perspective on popular songs about women.
