Critically acclaimed duo Dead Can Dance are set to release their first studio album of new material today, August 9 marking their first new recordings since 1996's Spiritchaser. In support of the album, this summer principle members Lisa Gerrard and Brendan Perry will embark on a worldwide tour bringing them to four continents during an eight month period. Kicking off today, August 9 at The Orpheum in Vancouver, these dates are the bands first live shows since their sold out 2005 tour. Fans can expect live performances highlighting arrangements from decade's worth of musical archives plus songs from their upcoming release. Please see dates below.

Perry and Gerrard began working on ideas and writing songs in the autumn of 2011 for the new album. Recording began at Ireland's Quivy Studios early this year. "Lisa and myself are genuinely excited to be working together again in the studio," said Perry. "It will be a spring album to coincide with both natures awakening and the groups subsequent rebirth."

Forming in Australia more than 30 years ago, Gerrard and Perry have created ten critically acclaimed pioneering albums including the classic Into The Labyrinth in 1993 and the 2005 retrospective Memento. In the past six months, the band has released a series of four track EP's via their website www.deadcandance.com.

These live recordings from their 2005 tour entitled 'Live Happenings' are available for a limited time only as free digital downloads replaced every few months starting with Live Happenings-Part 1 continuing thought Part 4 to be released this spring.
