Former Disney princess Demi Lovato has a reputation for promoting numerous charitable and social causes, and it seems she will be bringing some of this enthusiasm to her upcoming tour.

Rather than having a performance from a musician as her opening act, Lovato has asked motivational speaker Spencer West to to share his story to audiences. "This is a different kind of tour and one of the things that makes it so special is my friend, Spencer. I'm so honored to have him on tour with me sharing his beautiful and empowering message with all of us," Lovato expressed via Facebook.

After losing both his legs due to a rare genetic disorder at the age of five, doctors told West he had little chance of merely sitting up on his own over the course of his life. But West has proven them wrong; in fact, he was able to climb to the top of Mount Kilimanjaro two years ago, raising half a million dollars for Free the Children's sustainable water initiative.

Lovato is currently touring her fourth studio album 'Demi' for a second time, which began on September 6th and will last until October 27th of this year. 'Demi' has been certified gold in the United States, selling over 500,000 copies.
