Bill Eberle has never been the kind of artist who is afraid to go anywhere. Armed with folk songwriting chops far surpassing his years, Eberle pulls inspiration from sources both classical and wildly contemporary, and doesn't back away from lyrics reflecting on our troubled times. True to both his roots and the current moment, the songwriter combines profundity with infectious melodies, drawing the listener in deeper with every song. Now, Eberle announces his debut EP Ashes, available everywhere February 12th, 2016.
Ashes opens with "Matter & Time," a tale of a girl who speaks of the rapture, punctuated by country-fried guitar riffs and soul-shaking rhythm. Throughout the 5-track voyage, Eberle dips into blues, soul, rock , folk and country flavors, always remaining true to his personal sensibility, resulting in a remarkably compelling sound. The EP's title track is the most vulnerable moment, written around the time George Zimmerman was acquitted for the murder of Trayvon Martin. The track encouraged the rest of the Eberle's work to become what it did, including the rock-rattling crowd favorite "Crash On The Levee," the inspiring take on Bob Dylan's original.Videos
