Portland band Balto has just unleashed the video for "Born Astray" via Relix, accompanied by a bonus karaoke video. The official video features the band, alongside some rather glamorous backing singers, playing a tiny dive bar, joined by some bar regulars taking on the song in karaoke fashion. Luckily, karaoke is an all-inclusive activity, and all viewers can practice their best "Born Astray" with the accompanying karaoke lyric video, also available via Relix.

Explains frontman Daniel Sheron of the filming process, ""We were trying to create a world for the song to live in - somewhere grotesque and lurid and a little decadent even as it decays - call it Reno, NV c. 1973-76. 'Born Astray' can be a heavy song, and while we wanted the video to express that weight, we also wanted to be able to laugh at its own navel gazing. So we went down to one of our favorite bars in town, the Spare Room, and while they stayed open, we drank all day and made this movie, with cameos from some of our best friends."

"Born Astray" is currently living on two Spotify Germany Official Playlists - Feelgood Indie and Indie Radar, and one in Spotify Australia "Chill Roots" - CA LUV is on a Spotify Netherlands Playlist called "Beautiful Day."

Balto plays unbridled American rock'n'roll - steeped in the mythology of the legendary songwriters and Motown's almighty groove. Biting cynicism, instant classics, rip-your-heart-out live energy, and a willingness to swagger rip hard and live behind the beat. This is a band formed the old fashioned way - chance meetings through friends of friends - four life-long musicians from around the country, playing at the intersection of so many strands of indigenous American music - that tradition that runs from Son House to Sun Ra, from Mississippi John Hurt to the Alabama Shakes. Principle songwriter Dan Sheron just completed an eight-show solo tour in Russia, and the band is gearing up for some exciting releases later this fall.
Stay tuned for more Balto in the coming year.
