"Britain's Got Talent" executive producer Simon Cowell speaking to reporters Friday, told Variety that the frenzy over Boyle may open the door for less photo-ready, well-groomed people to at least show up for talent auditions.

"I'm thinking we should hold maybe two more open auditions off the back of Susan Boyle," Cowell said to Variety. "Because the awareness is higher. (You'll now get) somebody who says, 'I think I am talented, and I don't think people will judge me for the way I look." To read the full article click here.

Susan Boyle's stirring rendition of the Les Misèrables ballad I Dreamed A Dream has been watched more than 100 million times on YouTube and other websites, setting it up to become the most viewed internet clip ever.

Sources told the UK Telegraph yesterday that Simon Cowell is now fighting off offers from Hollywood, with reports that he is eager to produce a film of her life himself.

Cowell reportedly wants to handle any movie deals through his own Production Company Syco. A source close to Cowell revealed "He is amazed as anyone about how Boyle-mania has gripped the world". To read the full Telegraph article click here.

The unassuming 47 year old Susan Boyle wowed the judges with her performance in the auditions for the latest season of Britains Got Talent, singing "I Dreamed A Dream" from Les Miserables.

Boyle, an unemployed woman who's "nearly 48," talked about her cat, and joked around with the judges, noting that she had "never been kissed." She revealed her dreams of being a singer and compared herself to beloved British musical theater star Elaine Paige.

The entire audience prepared for the worst as she began her song, but, once she starting singing the crowd and judges were transported by her emotional and theatrical take on the number!

The Britains Got Talent's first season was won by a cell phone salesman who sang opera songs, Paul Potts. Potts was also physically unassuming at first blush on the show. It appears Susan Boyle has struck a very similar cord at the start of this season as well. To watch the performance, click here. Judge Simon Cowell is now reportedly setting up a record deal for her, she has also become the favortie to win the top slot on the program.

On October 8, 1985 Les Misérables opened at the Barbican Theatre, London and musical theatre history was made. It then moved to the Palace Theatre on 4 December 1985. On March 12, 1987, the American version opened at the Broadway Theatre.
