According to The Hollywood Reporter, A24 and DirecTV have picked up the U.S. rights to DARK PLACES, the new film adaptation of GONE GIRL author Gillian Flynn's 2009 novel.

DARK PLACES is directed and adapted by Gilles Paquet-Brenner and stars Charlize Theron, Chloe Grace Moretz, Nicholas Hoult and Christina Hendricks.

It follows "a woman (Theron) who's survived the brutal killing of her family as a child. Years later, she's forced to revisit the events that left her life in shambles and put her brother in jail."

Flynn's GONE GIRL just hit theaters last month, starring Ben Affleck and Rosamund Pike.
