According to The Hollywood Reporter, the first chapter of Harper Lee's highly anticipated new novel "Go Set a Watchman" has debuted on The Wall Street Journal and The Guardian's websites today. Set in the 1970's, the sequel to "To Kill a Mockingbird" features the beloved characters Atticus and Scout Finch.

With audio edition narrated by Hollywood's Reese Witherspoon, the book can now be previewed on either The Guardian or The Wall Street Journal's websites.

The book's publisher, HarperCollins reports that preorders for the new work, Lee's first published novel in over 50 years, have brought in record numbers for them.

According to The Wall Street Journal, extra security measures have been put in place, including placing copies in shrink-wrapped boxes which are being monitored by closed-circuit televisions. The novel will hit bookstores on Tuesday, July 14.

The book will be published in both American and British editions before being translated into Spanish, Dutch, Swedish, Korean and other foreign languages in the future.
