"Interrogation Room 109" is an urban film written and directed by independent filmmaker Anthony Malachi and it was in part inspired by his own life.
Upon nearing the film's completion, Malachi launched a Kickstarter campaign in an attempt to raise $1,500 to finish the film and get it into theaters. There are various incentives for the different supporter levels, including an opportunity to get a spot in one of Malachi's future projects. The gritty drama follows a local drug dealer, Slice, determined to win back his beloved ex-girlfriend, Sharon. However, Sharon's new love, G-low, (played by Malachi) stands firmly in his way. Thus Slice plots a devious scheme, complete with crooked cops, drugs, set-ups, murder, and blackmail to ensure his rival goes down, and stays down. Unlike many contemporary urban movies that mainly glamorize violence, Malachi's portrayal of the street game depicts a more realistic vantage point complete with consequences. His intent is to use the film's momentum to connect with, and educate urban, at-risk youth.
