Damon Wayans, Jr. to Join Dakota Johnson et al. in HOW TO BE SINGLE?

BroadwayWorld previously reported that Dakota Johnson, Leslie Mann, Dan Stevens, and Rebel Wilson are in talks to join the upcoming rom-com HOW TO BE SINGLE, and now Variety writes that New Line is also courting NEW GIRL star Damon Wayans, Jr. to join its roster.

Christian Ditter helms the film, based on the novel by Liz Tuccillo, which follows "a woman living in New York and searching for love." Dana Fox is penning a new draft based on Marc Silverstein and Abby Kohn's original adaptation.

Johnson will next be seen in Fifty Shades, as well as Chloe and Theo, Black Mass and A Bigger Splash. Her past film credits include Anarchy, Need for Speed, Date and Switch, The Five-Year Engagement, 21 JUMP STREET and The Social Network, as well as the TV series Ben and Kate.

Mann's next project is Vacation. She recently appeared on the big screen in The Other Woman, Rio 2, Mr. Peabody & Sherman, THE BLING RING and This Is 40.

Stevens, who has appeared on Broadway in The Heiress, can currently be seen in Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb. He has Criminal Activities and The Ticket in the queue. Among his past film credits are A Walk Among the Tombstones, The Cobbler, THE FIFTH ESTATE and more. He is well known for his role as 'Matthew Crawley' on the UK series Downton Abbey.

Wilson appears alongside Stevens in the latest Night at the Museum movie. She will next be seen in PITCH PERFECT 2, Grimsby and The Social Life. She has also starred on the big screen in the first PITCH PERFECT film, What to Expect When You're Expecting, Struck by Lightning, Bachelorette, Bridesmaids and more.

Damon Wayans, Jr. is an American actor, writer, and stand-up comedian, most widely known for starring as Brad Williams in the ABC comedy series Happy Endings and as Coach in the Fox comedy series New Girl. In 2014, he starred in THE COMEDY film Let's Be Cops and provided the voice of Wasabi in Big Hero 6. He is the oldest son of actor-comedian Damon Wayans and nephew of Keenan Ivory Wayans, Shawn Wayans, Kim Wayans and Marlon Wayans.
